Travel grants
Two types of travel grants are available:
- Short visits of up to 15 days
- Exchange grants, from 15 days to three months
There is no deadline for the submission of an application for a short visit or exchange grant. Applications will be reviewed regularly.

Science meetings
Proposals for science meetings should be submitted before the deadlines:
- 15 October 2012 (only applications for science meetings taking place in 2013)
- 1 May 2013
Note:
- Only applications submitted through the ESF online system can be taken into account.
- Deadlines are strict - applicants cannot get an answer/evaluation before the deadline.
- Events submitted an application for is to take place after the deadline.
- The steering committee encourage applicants not to exceed five pages and the CV to be limited to one page.
Application procedure
- Organisers are asked to submit online the ESF application form for a science meeting. Please use the online application form.
- The ESF will inform applicants of the outcome of the evaluation procedure.
- If the application is successful, the organiser will receive instructions from ESF on how to complete the acceptance form and on reporting procedures, including online submission of the full list of participants. Upon receipt of the acceptance form, the ESF makes an advance payment (normally 80% of the allocated grant, two months before the meeting).
- The final bank transfer will be made upon online receipt at the ESF of the financial report, the scientific report and the final list of all meeting participants within two months of the meeting.
ESF guidelines
When you receive financial support for a science meeting, you will have to follow the guidelines set out by ESF which include, among others, the preparation of a scientific and a financial report.
