Educated Master Mariner and further holds a M.Sc. in Transport and Maritime Management.
Mr. Elling has been sailing in the merchant marine until 2003.
Right after his sailing career he was managing a terminal and acting as chief stevedore.
From 2005 till 2012 he has been working for BBC Chartering in different roles, namely as Port Captain Officer, doing technical planning and executing loading and discharge operations, as Executive HSEQ Officer, writing and setting up the safety system from scratch.
Latest as Chief Operations Officer, with full responsibility of all operations World Wide ensuring safe, lean and effective customer focused operations and having full responsibility of all Contractor Management systems and selections. Further he was responsible for the safety and quality systems of the company.
Mr. Elling has for BBC published a Guideline on safe cargo operations for project cargo together with professor Hermann Kaps.
