History

Founded in 1973 by Mrs Renée Campbell with the support of the Minister of the Scottish Church in Brussels as the "St Andrew's Church Scottish Country Dance Group"

Until 2011 the group danced in the hall of the church on Mondays and Thursdays. Most classes were taught to recorded music, but over the years some well-known Scottish Country Dance musicians stayed in or near Brussels and have come to play for the classes. Among them are Keith Smith, George McLennan, David Hall and Bernie Hewitt.

in 2011, we got the opportunity to use the facilities of Pianofabriek in the Brussels commune of St. Gilles. It was on this occation decided to change the name of the group to its current name "Brussels Dance Scottish".
