Statutes of the Order

 

·       Members are required to pray regularly, at home, in their community houses of worship or wherever they may be in the World and to help people in need.

·       Members must be a baptized Christian.

·       Volunteer service to “HELP OTHERS” is expected of all members.

·       All enter at the lowest level of Member.  (Can be waived by the Grand Master of the Order).

·       The Grand Master will hold the highest rank of the Order.

·       Merit or “Honoris Causa” determines promotion.

·       Members of all ranks shall reply to written requests made in the name of Grand Master with diligence and speed.

·       Members shall endeavor to expand the Order by way of mouth.

·       Members shall at all time act in a proper and respectful manner to all officers of the order as an act of faith and respect to the rank held within the Order.

·       Members shall work to the best of their ability to achieve the high Offices of the Order when available and assist in the running of the Order.

·       Every Knight or Dame is authorized their own Secretary to provide assistance with their private and official duties and issues of protocol.  They shall be appointed as “honorary members” of the Order.     

·       The Grand Master has the full authority to appoint his successor.

·       The Grand Master has the authority to confer or revokes all dignities granted within the Order.

·       The Grand Master will render a final decision on all new applications. If unfavorable, such decision is not to be interpreted as being in any way a reflection upon the candidate.

·       Members are required to maintain contact with the Grand Master, the Chancellor and the Grand Prior and advise them promptly of any change of address, E-mail. or telephone numbers.

·       Membership is by application (Vita) with two letters of reference or a special appointment by the Grand Master of the Order.

·       A completed Vita or Resume is required to include, name, address, E-mail, phone number date of birth, profession, honors received, etc. 

·       Each successful applicant must acknowledge and confirm the acceptance of all appointments..

·       All appointments of Knighthood are life appointments, unless revoked for cause by the Grand Master

·       The Grand Master has the authority to modify the statutes for the good operation of the Order.

·       All letterheads, forms and all other documents for public diffusion, used by the Order must be approved.

 

The Holy Order of St. MARTIN De PORRES does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of gender, race, color, nationality or denomination. Membership in the Order, however, is reserved to those who are baptized and profess the Christian Faith, be they Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant.  Debates concerning a member’s Christian beliefs will not be allowed within the organization.
