Workshops & Events / 50th Anniversary Dinner & Ball
THE VENUE:
Horta Grand Café - Art Nouveau Hall
Hopland 2, Antwerp

The Horta Grand Café building in Antwerp is relatively new on that address. From the outside it looks like another modern structure, but the building has a quite fascinating story: It was designed by one of the Art Nouveau Masters, Victor Horta, as the "Maison du Peuple" in Brussels (inaugurated in 1899). Sadly, this building was demolished in 1965, but a large part of the structure was kept in a warehouse, first in Tervuren and later in Ghent, for the following +/-30 years. And then they were put back to glory in its present form as the Horta Grand Café. The café itself and the large hall are built from the remains of the former Maison du Peuple.
