My professional career began in 1991 when I was signed by Steve Coppell for Crystal Palace Football Club and I made my debut in the Coca-Cola third round match against Liverpool at Anfield where I won the man of the Match award.
I enjoyed a memorable three years at the Club playing along side players including Gareth Southgate, John Salako, Chris Coleman, Nigel Martin and Chris Armstrong.
During my time at Palace, I played in the Coca-Cola Semi Final against Arsenal and the FA Cup Semi Final against Manchester United and played an integral part in the Division One winning team in the 1993/1994 Season.
I also worked under the management of Alan Smith at Palace and was coached by Ex-England and current Middlesbrough Coach, Steve Harrison.
In the Summer of 1995, I signed for Millwall Football Club where I played for the next six Seasons making 150 Appearances.
At Millwall I was Team Captain under three Managers, Mick McCarthy, Jimmy Nicholl and Keith Stevens.
I was placed on stand-by for the England Under 21’s on two occasions whilst at Palace but missed out on both occasions due to injury but in 1998 I was called up to play in the World Cup Qualifiers for my Grandfather’s place of birth, St Kitts & Nevis. This was a fantastic experience and I met some very colourful characters on my trip, definitely one to tell the grandchildren about one day!
Following a spell of injury and new management at Millwall, I joined Colchester United in 2001 where I enjoyed 4 seasons, making 120 Appearances before I joined Gravesend and Northfleet in the Summer of 2005 and made 35 Appearances for them last season.
I currently play for Bromley FC in the Ryman Division where I successfully combine the role of Player and First Team Coach and we are working towards promotion this season.
My coaching experience has spanned the last 15 years, having gained invaluable knowledge from the many coaches that I worked with over the years.
I was Head Coach at the ‘Ian Wright Football Academy’ for several years until it ceased running in Summer 2004. I proceeded to take over the running of the Academy and have continued to run the successful ‘Volenti Soccer Schools’ with the help of Paul Smallwood on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the Croydon area where we see in excess of 70 children each week.
Through my coaching I have helped more than a dozen players get places in Academies and some of those have gone on to play in professional teams.
Finally, I currently work closely with a successful Sports Management Company looking after professional footballers from the Conference Division to the Premiership Division and have gained many valuable contacts at Football Clubs all over England.
