Official record

We have a departure date on the 1. of April from Sønderstrømfjord and final destination in Isortoq.

Our waypoints (may change):

SDR.FJ:  67'00'19.77N   50'41'25.21W

Isortoq: 65'40'17.34N   39'04'36.81W

There is no official Danish or world record in crossing the ice cap of Greenland

We have contacted GUINNESS book of records to make the attempt official. Many expeditions have crossed the ice cap, but from different posititions, we will depart from the waters of the Fjord and finish on the shores of Isortoq. Between these two waters, that is our time frame.

Quickest crossing without support:

"World record"*
1995, Sjur Mødre
11 days & 12 hours

Total 575 km

*There are doubts on where Sjur started and ended his trip.

Quickest Danish time??

We would like to hear from any Danish team, who has crossed the ice cap within 20 days.

We have heard of a team that crossed the ice cap quicker than Sjur - if anyone knows of this team, please e-mail soren@diveinto.dk
